Why email authentication matters

SPF, DMARC, and DKIM are three DNS records that together stop other people from sending email as your domain. Without them, a spammer can forge your address and your real mail is more likely to land in spam. With all three set correctly, receiving servers can verify your mail and reject forgeries.

SPF lists the servers allowed to send your mail. DKIM adds a cryptographic signature that proves a message was not altered. DMARC ties the two together, sets the policy for failures, and sends you reports. Each tool above checks one of them and explains what it finds.
